How to Unprotect Excel

There are a few ways to unprotect an Excel sheet, depending on the level of security you need. If you only need to unprotect the sheet to make changes, you can use the password-protected sheet's password to unprotect it. If you need to remove all password protection from the sheet, you can use the VBA code below.

To use the VBA code to unprotect an Excel sheet:

1. Open the Excel sheet you want to unprotect.

2. Press Alt+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor.

3. In the Project Explorer on the left, expand Microsoft Excel Objects, then double-click on ThisWorkbook.

4. In the right pane, find the code that begins with "Sub Workbook_Open()".

5. Paste the following code after the "Sub Workbook_Open()" code:

UnprotectSheet "Sheet1"

6. Save the file and close the Visual Basic Editor.

7. Close the Excel sheet.

To use the password-protected sheet's password to unprotect it:

1. Open the Excel sheet you want to unprotect.

2. Press Alt+F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor.
