How to Number Rows in Excel

There are a few ways to number rows in Excel. One way is to use the built-in row numbers that Excel provides. To do this, select the "Home" tab and then select the "Number" group. From there, select the "AutoSum" drop-down and then select "AutoSum Row Numbers." This will automatically number the rows in your spreadsheet.

Another way to number rows is to use a custom formula. To do this, you'll need to first create a column next to the row you want to number that will contain the row numbers. In the column next to the row you want to number, type in the following formula:

=COUNT(A:A)

This will count the number of rows in the column A. Next, copy the formula and paste it into the cell below the first cell in the column. This will give you the number 1. Then, drag the formula down the column to populate the rest of the row numbers.
