How to Create a Dropdown List in Excel

There are a few ways that you can create a dropdown list in Excel. One way is to use a data validation list. To do this, you first need to create a list of items that you want to appear in the dropdown list. You can do this in a separate worksheet, or you can type the list directly into the cell where you want the dropdown list to appear.

Once you have created your list of items, you need to select the cell where you want the dropdown list to appear. Then, go to the Data tab and select Data Validation. In the Data Validation window, select List from the Allow dropdown list. Then, select the range of cells that contains the list of items that you want to appear in the dropdown list.
