Using the Same Range Name on Different Worksheets in Excel

You can use the same range name on different worksheets in Excel, but there are a few things you need to keep in mind. First, when you create a named range, it is only valid on the sheet where you created it. If you want to use that named range on another sheet, you'll need to create it again. Second, if you change the values in a named range on one sheet, those changes will not be reflected on the other sheets where that named range exists.

To use the same range name on different worksheets:

  1. On each sheet, select the cells that you want to name.
  2. On the Formulas tab, in the Defined Names group, click Define Name.
  3. In the New Name dialog box, enter the name of the range.
  4. Click OK.

Now when you enter the named range into a formula, it will work on any sheet where that named range exists.
