Using Dynamic Chart Titles in Excel

You can use dynamic chart titles in Excel to make your charts more informative. For example, you can include the name of the data series or the category axis in the title. To do this, you need to use a special code called an "ampersand" (&).

Here's how it works:

  1. First, select the chart.
  2. Then click on the "Chart Tools" tab on the ribbon.
  3. Click on the "Layout" tab.
  4. In the "Chart Title" drop-down, select "Custom."
  5. Enter your custom title in the text box. Use the ampersand (&) to insert a code for the data series or category axis.
  6. For example, if you want the title to show the name of the data series, use &A1 (without quotation marks).
