Turning Off AutoFill in Excel

To turn off AutoFill in Excel, follow these steps:

  1. Open Microsoft Excel.
  2. Click on the File tab in the upper left-hand corner.
  3. Click Options in the drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the Advanced tab in the left-hand column.
  5. Scroll down to the Editing options section and uncheck the Enable AutoComplete for cell values checkbox.
  6. Click OK to save your changes and close the window.

Now, when you enter data into a cell in Excel, AutoFill will no longer automatically fill in adjacent cells with that data. If you want to turn AutoFill back on at any time, simply follow the steps above and check the Enable AutoComplete for cell values checkbox.
