Rounding to Even and Odd Values in Excel

When working with numerical data in Excel, you may need to round values to the nearest even or odd number. This can be done using the ROUND function. The ROUND function takes two arguments: the value to be rounded and the number of digits to which you want to round the value.

To round a value to the nearest even number, you would use the following formula:

=ROUND(value, 0)

To round a value to the nearest odd number, you would use the following formula:

=ROUND(value-0.5, 0)

For example, if you have a value of 7.5 in cell A1 and you want to round it to the nearest even number, you would use the following formula in cell A2:

=ROUND(A1, 0)

This would give you a result of 8 in cell A2.
