Reducing File Size in Excel

There are a few ways to reduce the file size of an Excel document. One way is to save the file as a .csv file. CSV files are much smaller in size than Excel files because they don't contain all of the formatting information that Excel files do. Another way to reduce the file size of an Excel document is to save it as a .xlsx file instead of an .xls file. XLSX files are compressed, so they take up less space on your hard drive. Finally, you can also save an Excel document as a PDF. PDFs are typically much smaller in size than Excel files.

To save an Excel document as a .csv file, open the document in Excel and click 'File' > 'Save As'. In the 'Save As' dialog box, select 'CSV (Comma delimited)' from the 'Save as type:' drop-down menu and click 'Save'.

To save an Excel document as a .xlsx file, open the document in Excel and click 'File' > 'Save As'. In the 'Save As' dialog box, select 'Excel Workbook (*.xlsx)' from the 'Save as type:' drop-down menu and click 'Save'.

To save an Excel document as a PDF, open the document in Excel and click 'File' > 'Print'. In the print dialog box, select 'Adobe PDF' from the list of printers and click 'OK'. In the next dialog box that appears, choose where you want to save the PDF and click 'Save'.
