Putting Spreadsheet Names in Headers or Footers in Excel

You can put the name of your spreadsheet in the header or footer of your document so that people will know what it is when they print it out. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open your spreadsheet in Excel.
  2. Click on the "File" menu and then choose "Page Setup."
  3. In the Page Setup dialog box, click on the "Header/Footer" tab.
  4. In the "Header" or "Footer" drop-down list, choose "Custom Header" or "Custom Footer," respectively.
  5. In the "Left section," type in &[Tab]&[Page]&[Pages] to insert the name of your spreadsheet, the current page number, and the total number of pages in your document. You can also add other information here, such as your name or the date.
  6. When you're finished, click on the "OK" button.

Now when you print your document, the name of your spreadsheet will appear in the header or footer (depending on which one you chose).
