Numbers in Base 12 in Excel

To change a number to base 12 in Excel, first convert the number to base 10. Then, divide the number by 12 and take the remainder. This will be the first digit in base 12. Repeat this process, dividing the previous result by 12 and taking the remainder each time, until there are no more digits left.

For example, to convert 123 to base 12 in Excel:

  1. First, convert 123 to base 10: 123 = 1102 + 2101 + 3100
  2. Next, divide 123 by 12 and take the remainder: 123 12 = 10 with a remainder of 3
  3. The first digit in base 12 is 3: 3
  4. Repeat the process, dividing 10 by 12 and taking the remainder: 10 12 = 0 with a remainder of 10
  5. The second digit in base 12 is A: A
  6. Repeat the process again, dividing 0 by 12 and taking the remainder: 0 12 = 0 with a remainder of 0
  7. The third digit in base 12 is 0: 0
