"Library Not Registered" Error in Excel

If you receive the "Library not registered" error in Excel, it means that one or more of the required libraries for Excel are not properly registered. This can happen if you have installed a new version of Excel over an older version, or if certain files become corrupt. To fix this problem, you need to re-register the affected libraries.

To do this, open the Command Prompt (search for "cmd" in the Start menu) and type the following commands:

cd C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OfficeXX
regsvr32.exe /u msxml6.dll
regsvr32.exe msxml6.dll

Replace "XX" with your version of Office (14 = 2010, 15 = 2013, 16 = 2016).

If that doesn't work, try the following:

cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64
regsvr32.exe /u msxml6.dll
regsvr32.exe msxml6.dll
