Assuming you have a table in Excel and you want to spread out the columns:
- Select the entire table.
- On the Layout tab, in the Table group, click View Gridlines. This displays gridlines around all the cells in the table, making it easier to see where the table boundaries are.
- On the Layout tab, in the Cells group, click Merge & Center. This removes any merged cells in the selection.
On the Home tab, in the Alignment group, click the Decrease Indent
This decreases any existing indent on your selection.
Click anywhere in your table.
On the "Layout" (or "Table Tools Layout", if you're using Excel 2007) tab of the Ribbon, click "Distribute Columns Evenly."
