How to Limit Searching to a Column in Excel

If you want to limit your search in Excel to a specific column, there are a few different ways that you can do this. One way is to use the FIND function. This function will allow you to specify the column that you want to search in. For example, if you wanted to search for the word "cat" in column A, you would use the following formula:

=FIND("cat",A1,1)

Another way to limit your search to a specific column is to use the FILTER function. This function will allow you to filter your data based on criteria that you specify. For example, if you wanted to only see rows where column A contains the word "cat", you would use the following formula:

=FILTER(A:A,A1="cat")

You can also use the SEARCH function to limit your search to a specific column. This function works similar to the FIND function, but it is not case-sensitive. For example, if you wanted to find the word "cat" in column A, regardless of whether it is upper or lower case, you would use the following formula:

=SEARCH("cat",A1,1)
