Assuming you would like to know how to use Microsoft Excel to draw simple objects:
- Open a new workbook in Excel. For this example, we will use a blank workbook.
- Click on the cell where you would like to insert your object. For this example, we will click on cell A1.
- On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes.
- Under Lines, click any of the line shapes.
- Click and drag in the worksheet to draw your line.
You can also add pre-drawn shapes from the AutoShapes menu. To do this:
- On the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click Shapes.
- Click More Shapes.
In the Choose a SmartArt Graphic dialog box, under Available Templates, click Basic Shapes.
Click and drag in the worksheet to draw your shape.
Adding Text to Your Drawing Object
After you draw your object, click it once to select it.
