How to Divide Values in Excel

To divide values in Excel, you can use the division operator (/), which returns a decimal value, or the integer division operator (\), which returns an integer value.

If you want to divide values in a range of cells, you can use the division operator in a formula. For example, if you want to divide the values in cells A2 through A5 by the value in cell A1, you would enter the following formula in cell A6:

=A2/A1

If you want to divide the values in cells A2 through A5 by the value in cell A1 and return an integer result, you would enter the following formula in cell A6:

=A2\A1

You can also use the division operator to divide one value by another value. For example, if you want to divide the value in cell A2 by the value in cell A1, you would enter the following formula in cell A3:

=A2/A1
