Freezing Top Rows and Bottom Rows in Excel

Assuming you are referring to freezing panes in Excel:

There are a few different ways to freeze panes in Excel, depending on what you want to freeze and where you want the split to be. You can freeze panes horizontally, vertically, or both at the same time.

To freeze panes horizontally, meaning the top row or rows will be frozen and the rest of the sheet will scroll, do the following:

  1. Click the View tab on the ribbon.
  2. Click Freeze Panes in the Window group.
  3. Click Freeze Top Row.

To freeze panes vertically, meaning the left column or columns will be frozen and the rest of the sheet will scroll, do the following:

  1. Click the View tab on the ribbon.
  2. Click Freeze Panes in the Window group.
  3. Click Freeze First Column.
