Finding the Nth Occurrence of a Character in Excel

To find the nth occurrence of a character in Excel, you can use a simple formula based on the FIND and LEN functions.

In the generic form of the formula (above), rng is the range of cells that you want to search, and find_text is the text or character you want to find. The "n" value represents the nth occurrence that you want to find.

For example, if you want to find the 3rd occurrence of the letter "e" in the text string "Excel", you would use this formula:

=FIND("e", "Excel", 3)

The result would be 5, because "e" is the 5th character in "Excel".
