Counting Commas in a Selection in Excel

To count the number of commas in a selection in Excel, you can use a simple formula:

=LEN(A1)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1,",",""))

This formula will work no matter how many commas are in your selection. If you only want to count the number of commas in a certain range, you can use this array formula:

=SUM(LEN(A1:A10)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(A1:A10,",","")))

Just enter this formula in one cell, and it will count the number of commas in cells A1 through A10. You can change the range to whatever you need.
