Converting Phone Numbers in Excel

There are a few different ways to convert phone numbers in Excel. One way is to use the Text to Columns feature. To use this feature, follow these steps:

  1. Select the cells that contain the phone numbers.
  2. On the Data tab, in the Data Tools group, click Text to Columns.
  3. In the Convert Text to Columns Wizard, select Delimited, and then click Next.
  4. In the next step of the wizard, clear all check boxes under Delimiters, and then click Finish.

Another way to convert phone numbers in Excel is to use a formula. For example, if you have a 10-digit phone number and you want to add parentheses around the area code and a dash between the third and fourth digits, you can use this formula:

=CONCATENATE("(",LEFT(A1,3),")","-",MID(A1,4,3),"-",RIGHT(A1,4))
