Controlling Display of the Formula Bar in Excel

The Formula Bar in Microsoft Excel is a great tool that allows you to see the formulas that are being used in a worksheet. However, there may be times when you want to hide the Formula Bar to prevent others from seeing your formulas. In this article, we will show you how to control the display of the Formula Bar in Excel.

  1. Open the Microsoft Excel application. You can do this by clicking on the Start menu and then selecting All Programs. Find Microsoft Excel in the list of programs and click on it to open it.
  2. Click on the File tab. This is located at the top-left corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear. Select Options from this menu.
  3. Select Advanced from the left sidebar. This will open up a new window with a list of options on the left side. Scroll down until you see the Display section. Check the box next to Show formulas in cells instead of their calculated results.
  4. Click on OK. This will save your changes and close the window. Your Formula Bar should now be hidden from view.

Note: If you want to show the Formula Bar again, simply follow steps 1-3 and uncheck the box next to Show formulas in cells instead of their calculated results.
