Changing Elements in Lots of Charts at One Time in Excel

If you have to change the elements in a lot of charts at one time, it can be tedious to do it manually. Here's a quick way to do it using Excel.

  1. First, select the charts you want to change. To do this, click on the first chart, then hold down the Ctrl key and click on each of the other charts you want to select. All of the selected charts will be highlighted.
  2. Next, right-click on one of the selected charts and choose Format Chart Area. This will open the Format Chart Area pane on the right side of the screen.
  3. In the Format Chart Area pane, make the changes you want to the chart elements. For example, you can change the fill color, line color, or font size. When you're finished making changes, close the Format Chart Area pane.
  4. Your changes will now be applied to all of the selected charts!

Note: If you want to apply your changes to only some of the selected charts, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the charts you don't want to change before opening the Format Chart Area. Then, make your changes and close the pane as usual.
