Adding Drop Shadows to Cells in Excel

Adding drop shadows to cells in Excel can make your data stand out and be easier to read. Here's how to add a drop shadow to a cell:

  1. Select the cell or range of cells that you want to add a drop shadow to.
  2. On the Format tab, in the Cells group, click Format.
  3. If you don't see the Format tab, make sure that you selected a cell or range of cells.
  4. In the Format Cells dialog box, click the Fill tab.
  5. Under Fill, click No Fill.
    Note: You can also use the shortcut key Alt+H, FN+Alt+H.
  6. Under Border, click None.
    Note: You can also use the shortcut key Alt+B, FN+Alt+B.
  7. (Optional) To add a 3D effect, under 3D Formatting, in the Presets area, click one of the preset options.
  8. (Optional) To customize your own 3D effect, under 3D Formatting, do any of the following:
