10 Excel Shortcuts for Switching Sheets

If you're anything like me, you're always looking for ways to work smarter, not harder. That's why I'm excited to share these 10 Excel shortcuts for switching sheets. By using these shortcuts, you can quickly and easily move between sheets in your workbook without having to take your hands off the keyboard.

1. Ctrl + Page Up/Page Down

This shortcut is probably the most well-known way to move between sheets in Excel. Simply hold down the Ctrl key and press the Page Up or Page Down key to move to the previous or next sheet in your workbook.

2. Ctrl + Tab

This shortcut works similarly to the Ctrl + Page Up/Page Down shortcut, but instead of moving between sheets sequentially, it allows you to move between sheets in the order that they're tabbed in the workbook. So, if you have three sheets tabbed in your workbook, pressing Ctrl + Tab will move you from the first sheet to the second sheet to the third sheet.

3. Ctrl + Shift + Tab

This shortcut is the reverse of the Ctrl + Tab shortcut. It allows you to move backwards between sheets in the order that they're tabbed in the workbook. So, if you have three sheets tabbed in your workbook, pressing Ctrl + Shift + Tab will move you from the third sheet to the second sheet to the first sheet.

4. F6

This shortcut will move you to the next sheet in your workbook, regardless of the order that the sheets are tabbed in.

5. Shift + F6

This shortcut will move you to the previous sheet in your workbook, regardless of the order that the sheets are tabbed in.

6. Ctrl + F6

This shortcut will move you to the next open workbook. So, if you have multiple workbooks open, this shortcut will allow you to quickly move between them.

7. Ctrl + Shift + F6

This shortcut will move you to the previous open workbook. So, if you have multiple workbooks open, this shortcut will allow you to quickly move between them.

8. Alt + F6

This shortcut will move you to the next open window. So, if you have multiple windows open, this shortcut will allow you to quickly move between them.

9. Alt + Shift + F6

This shortcut will move you to the previous open window. So, if you have multiple windows open, this shortcut will allow you to quickly move between them.

10. Ctrl + G

This shortcut will open the Go To dialog box, which allows you to quickly move to a specific sheet in your workbook. Simply enter the sheet name or number in the dialog box and press Enter to go to that sheet.
