Here's how it works:

1. Select the cell where you want to insert the new row.

2. Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard.

3. While holding Shift, press the down arrow key on your keyboard to select the entire row below the cell you selected in step 1.

4. Press the Insert key on your keyboard.

5. Release the Shift key.

You should now see a new row inserted above the row you selected in step 1.

That's it! This shortcut works in all versions of Excel, and it's a huge time-saver if you find yourself inserting rows on a regular basis.
