Excel shortcuts

If you're an Excel power user, you know that inserting rows and columns can be a real pain. It's easy enough to do with the mouse, but if you're working with a large spreadsheet, it can be a real time-saver to use keyboard shortcuts.

Here are 15 keyboard shortcuts for inserting rows and columns in Excel:

**1. To insert a row above the current row, press Alt + I, then R.** This shortcut will insert a new row above the row you currently have selected.

**2. To insert a column to the left of the current column, press Alt + I, then C.** This shortcut will insert a new column to the left of the column you currently have selected.

**3. To insert multiple rows above the current row, press Alt + I, then M, then R.** This shortcut will insert the number of rows you specify above the row you currently have selected.

**4. To insert multiple columns to the left of the current column, press Alt + I, then M, then C.** This shortcut will insert the number of columns you specify to the left of the column you currently have selected.

**5. To insert a row below the current row, press Alt + I, then B.** This shortcut will insert a new row below the row you currently have selected.

**6. To insert a column to the right of the current column, press Alt + I, then O.** This shortcut will insert a new column to the right of the column you currently have selected.

**7. To insert multiple rows below the current row, press Alt + I, then M, then B.** This shortcut will insert the number of rows you specify below the row you currently have selected.

**8. To insert multiple columns to the right of the current column, press Alt + I, then M, then O.** This shortcut will insert the number of columns you specify to the right of the column you currently have selected.

**9. To insert a row at the beginning of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then E.** This shortcut will insert a new row at the very top of the worksheet, above the row you currently have selected.

**10. To insert a column at the beginning of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then A.** This shortcut will insert a new column at the very left of the worksheet, to the left of the column you currently have selected.

**11. To insert multiple rows at the beginning of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then M, then E.** This shortcut will insert the number of rows you specify at the very top of the worksheet, above the row you currently have selected.

**12. To insert multiple columns at the beginning of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then M, then A.** This shortcut will insert the number of columns you specify at the very left of the worksheet, to the left of the column you currently have selected.

**13. To insert a row at the end of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then N.** This shortcut will insert a new row at the very bottom of the worksheet, below the row you currently have selected.

**14. To insert a column at the end of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then P.** This shortcut will insert a new column at the very right of the worksheet, to the right of the column you currently have selected.

**15. To insert multiple rows at the end of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then M, then N.** This shortcut will insert the number of rows you specify at the very bottom of the worksheet, below the row you currently have selected.

**16. To insert multiple columns at the end of the worksheet, press Alt + I, then M, then P.** This shortcut will insert the number of columns you specify at the very right of the worksheet, to the right of the column you currently have selected.
