Inserting the Dollar Sign in Excel on a Mac

If you're using a Mac, you can insert the dollar sign in Excel by holding down the Option key and typing the letter "4".

You can also use the Character Viewer to insert the dollar sign. To do this, open the Character Viewer from the Edit menu. Then, select the "Special Characters" tab, scroll down to the "Currency" section, and double-click on the dollar sign. The dollar sign will be inserted into your spreadsheet.

If you need to insert the dollar sign into a cell that already contains data, you can use the "Convert to Number" feature. To do this, select the cell that contains the data, click on the "Data" tab, and then click on the "Text to Columns" button. In the "Convert Text to Columns Wizard", select the "Delimited" option and click on the "Next" button. In the "Delimiters" section, select the "Other" option and type in the dollar sign. Then, click on the "Finish" button.

The dollar sign will now be inserted into the selected cell.
