How to Insert a Comment with a Shortcut in Excel

If you work with Microsoft Excel, you know that comments can be a great way to add context or additional information to a cell. But adding comments one by one can be time-consuming, especially if you have a lot of cells to annotate. Luckily, there's a shortcut that can help you quickly insert comments in Excel.

To insert a comment with a shortcut, first select the cell or cells where you want to add a comment. Then, press Ctrl+Shift+A on your keyboard. This shortcut will open the Insert Comment dialog box. In the dialog box, type your comment and then click the OK button.

Once you've inserted your comment, you'll see a small red triangle in the upper-right corner of the cell. To view the comment, simply hover your mouse over the cell. The comment will appear in a pop-up box.

If you want to edit a comment, simply click on the cell with the comment and then press Ctrl+Shift+A again. This will open the Edit Comment dialog box. Make your changes and then click the OK button.

You can also delete a comment by selecting the cell with the comment and then pressing Ctrl+Shift+A. In the Edit Comment dialog box, click the Delete button. Then, click the OK button.

Comments can be a great way to add additional information to a cell without cluttering up the worksheet. And using a shortcut to insert, edit, and delete comments can save you a lot of time.
