The shortcut menu is a handy tool that allows you to quickly access certain commands in Excel. However, there are times when you may want to hide the shortcut menu. For example, you may be working on a sensitive document and you do not want anyone to be able to access the commands on the shortcut menu. Or, you may simply want to declutter your workspace. Regardless of the reason, it is easy to hide the shortcut menu in Excel.
To hide the shortcut menu, simply click the File tab. Then, click Options. In the Options dialog box, click Advanced. Under the Editing options section, uncheck the Show shortcut menu check box. Click OK to save your changes.
Now, the shortcut menu will no longer be visible when you right-click in Excel. If you want to access the commands on the shortcut menu, you can still do so by using the keyboard shortcut Alt+F8. Simply press and hold the Alt key, then press and release the F8 key. This will open the shortcut menu so that you can select the desired command.
If you want to show the shortcut menu again, simply follow the steps above and check the Show shortcut menu check box. Then, click OK to save your changes.
