How to Use the Fill Color Shortcut in Excel

If you work with Excel spreadsheets on a regular basis, you know how important it is to be able to quickly and easily format your cells. One of the most common things you'll need to do is change the fill color of a cell or range of cells. Luckily, there's a keyboard shortcut that can help you do this quickly and easily.

To use the fill color shortcut, first select the cell or range of cells that you want to format. Then, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard. While you're holding down the Ctrl key, press the 1 key. This will open the Format Cells dialog box. (If you're using a Mac, the shortcut is Command+1.)

In the Format Cells dialog box, click on the Fill tab. Then, use the drop-down menu to choose the color you want to use. You can also use the slider to select a color, or you can click on the Custom button to create your own custom color. Once you've selected the color you want to use, click on the OK button.

That's all there is to it! Now you know how to quickly and easily change the fill color of a cell or range of cells using the fill color shortcut. Give it a try the next time you're working with an Excel spreadsheet and see how much time it can save you.
