15 Excel Right Click Shortcuts You Need to Know

If you're an Excel power user, you know that a lot of the time you spend working in the program is spent using the mouse. And while the mouse is a great tool for many things, there are some things that are just faster and easier to do with keyboard shortcuts. That's why we've compiled a list of our favorite right-click shortcuts that will help you work faster and smarter in Excel.

1. Insert a hyperlink: Right-click on the cell where you want to insert the hyperlink and select 'Hyperlink...' from the context menu. This will open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box where you can enter the URL and display text for the link.

2. Insert a comment: Right-click on the cell where you want to insert the comment and select 'Insert Comment' from the context menu. This will open the Insert Comment dialog box where you can enter your comment.

3. Edit a comment: Right-click on the cell with the comment you want to edit and select 'Edit Comment' from the context menu. This will open the Edit Comment dialog box where you can make changes to the comment.

4. Delete a comment: Right-click on the cell with the comment you want to delete and select 'Delete Comment' from the context menu.

5. Insert a picture: Right-click on the cell where you want to insert the picture and select 'Insert Picture...' from the context menu. This will open the Insert Picture dialog box where you can select the picture you want to insert.

6. Insert a chart: Right-click on the cell where you want to insert the chart and select 'Insert Chart...' from the context menu. This will open the Insert Chart dialog box where you can select the type of chart you want to insert.

7. Insert a shapes: Right-click on the cell where you want to insert the shapes and select 'Insert Shapes...' from the context menu. This will open the Insert Shapes dialog box where you can select the type of shapes you want to insert.

8. Insert a SmartArt: Right-click on the cell where you want to insert the SmartArt and select 'Insert SmartArt...' from the context menu. This will open the Insert SmartArt dialog box where you can select the type of SmartArt you want to insert.

9. Change the chart type: Right-click on the chart you want to change and select 'Change Chart Type...' from the context menu. This will open the Change Chart Type dialog box where you can select the new chart type.

10. Change the chart layout: Right-click on the chart you want to change and select 'Change Layout...' from the context menu. This will open the Change Layout dialog box where you can select the new layout.

11. Change the chart style: Right-click on the chart you want to change and select 'Change Style...' from the context menu. This will open the Change Style dialog box where you can select the new style.

12. Add a trendline: Right-click on the data series you want to add the trendline to and select 'Add Trendline...' from the context menu. This will open the Add Trendline dialog box where you can select the type of trendline you want to add.

13. Edit the data series: Right-click on the data series you want to edit and select 'Edit Data Series...' from the context menu. This will open the Edit Data Series dialog box where you can make changes to the data series.

14. Delete the data series: Right-click on the data series you want to delete and select 'Delete Data Series...' from the context menu. This will open the Delete Data Series dialog box where you can confirm that you want to delete the data series.

15. Add a data label: Right-click on the data point you want to add the data label to and select 'Add Data Label...' from the context menu. This will open the Add Data Label dialog box where you can enter the text for the data label.
