Excel Paste Value Shortcut: How to Quickly Insert Values Only

If you work with Excel on a regular basis, you know that there are a lot of different ways to copy and paste data. The most common way is to use the Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V shortcut keys. However, there is another way that you can copy and paste data that will only insert the values and not the formatting. This is called the Paste Values shortcut and it can be a real time saver if you know how to use it.

The first thing you need to do is select the cells that you want to copy. Once you have those cells selected, press the Ctrl + C shortcut keys. This will copy the data in those cells. Next, select the cell or cells where you want to paste the data. Now, instead of pressing the Ctrl + V shortcut keys, you will want to press the Ctrl + Shift + V shortcut keys. This will bring up the Paste Values dialog box. Simply click on the OK button and the values will be inserted into the selected cells.

You can also use this shortcut to paste values into a new workbook. To do this, open the workbook that contains the data you want to copy. Select the cells that you want to copy and press the Ctrl + C shortcut keys. Next, open the new workbook and select the cell where you want to paste the data. Now, press the Ctrl + Shift + V shortcut keys. This will bring up the Paste Values dialog box. Simply click on the OK button and the values will be inserted into the selected cell in the new workbook.

As you can see, the Paste Values shortcut is a great way to quickly insert values into a cell or range of cells. This can be a real time saver if you work with Excel on a regular basis.
