Excel Shortcut: Insert Row

If you're anything like me, you're always looking for ways to work faster in Excel. One of the best ways to do that is to use keyboard shortcuts. They can save you a ton of time!

One of the most common things you need to do in Excel is insert rows. Maybe you're adding data for a new month, or you're adding a new product to your inventory. Whatever the reason, inserting rows is a task you'll likely do often.

There's a couple different ways you can insert rows in Excel. The first is to right-click on the row above where you want to insert the new row, and then click on 'Insert'.

This method works fine, but it's not very fast. A better way is to use a keyboard shortcut. The shortcut to insert a row in Excel is Alt + I + R. Just hold down the Alt key, and then press the I and R keys one after the other. When you do, you'll see a new row appear above the one you selected.

You can also use this shortcut to insert multiple rows at once. Just select the number of rows you want to insert, and then use the shortcut. For example, if you want to insert 3 rows, you would select 3 rows, and then use the shortcut. The rows will be inserted above the selection.
