How to Edit a Cell in Excel: Keyboard Shortcuts

You can quickly edit a cell in Excel by using one of the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • F2 - Edit the contents of the selected cell
  • F4 - Repeat the last action
  • Ctrl + Enter - Enter the formula or data in the selected cell, and then move to the next cell in the row
  • Ctrl + Shift + Enter - Enter the formula or data in the selected cell, and then move to the first cell in the row

If you want to edit a cell without using a keyboard shortcut, you can double-click on the cell, or click on the cell and then press the Enter key.

Once you have made your changes, you can press the Enter key to save them, or the Esc key to cancel the changes.
