The Excel Copy Only Visible Cells Shortcut You Need to Know

If you work with data in Excel, you know how frustrating it can be to try and copy data that's hidden behind other cells. Luckily, there's a shortcut that lets you quickly and easily copy only the visible cells in a selection, so you don't have to waste time manually sifting through your data.

To use this shortcut, first select the cells you want to copy. Then, press Ctrl+Shift+* on your keyboard (hold down the Ctrl and Shift keys, and then press the asterisk key). This will select all the visible cells in your selection.

Once the visible cells are selected, you can copy them as usual by pressing Ctrl+C on your keyboard, or by right-clicking and selecting "Copy" from the context menu.

Pasting the copied data is just as easy--simply press Ctrl+V on your keyboard, or right-click and select "Paste" from the context menu. The visible cells will be copied to the destination, and any hidden cells will be ignored.

This shortcut is an absolute lifesaver if you work with data in Excel, so be sure to commit it to memory!
