The best way to edit cells in excel using shortcuts

If you're anything like me, you're always looking for ways to work faster and more efficiently in Excel. One of the best ways to do this is to use keyboard shortcuts, and there are plenty of shortcuts for editing cells in Excel. In this article, I'll share some of my favorite shortcuts for editing cells in Excel.

To start with, let's take a look at some of the most basic shortcuts for editing cells in Excel. If you want to select a cell, you can simply press the F2 key. If you want to edit the contents of a cell, you can press the F2 key or simply double-click on the cell. If you want to delete the contents of a cell, you can press the Delete key. And if you want to clear the contents of a cell, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+Spacebar shortcut.

If you want to insert a new row, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ plus sign shortcut. And if you want to insert a new column, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ minus sign shortcut. To delete a row or column, you can select the row or column and press the Ctrl+minus sign shortcut. And finally, if you want to resize a row or column, you can select the row or column and press the Ctrl+Shift+8 shortcut.

Now that we've covered some of the basic shortcuts for editing cells in Excel, let's take a look at some more advanced shortcuts. If you want to insert a cell, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ plus sign shortcut. And if you want to delete a cell, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ minus sign shortcut. To merge cells, you can select the cells you want to merge and press the Ctrl+Shift+M shortcut. And to unmerge cells, you can select the merged cells and press the Ctrl+Shift+U shortcut.

If you want to fill a cell with the contents of the cell above it, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ up arrow shortcut. And if you want to fill a cell with the contents of the cell below it, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ down arrow shortcut. To fill a cell with the contents of the cell to the left of it, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ left arrow shortcut. And to fill a cell with the contents of the cell to the right of it, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+ right arrow shortcut.

If you want to apply the same format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+~ shortcut. And if you want to apply the same number format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+$ shortcut. To apply the same date format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+# shortcut. And to apply the same time format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+@ shortcut.

If you want to apply the same font to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+> shortcut. And if you want to apply the same font size to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+< shortcut. To apply the same font color to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+F shortcut. And to apply the same fill color to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+B shortcut.

If you want to apply the same border to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+& shortcut. And if you want to apply the same number format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+~ shortcut. To apply the same date format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+# shortcut. And to apply the same time format to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+@ shortcut.

If you want to apply the same alignment to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+^ shortcut. And if you want to apply the same text wrap to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+W shortcut. To apply the same indent to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+> shortcut. And to apply the same shading to multiple cells, you can select the cells you want to format and press the Ctrl+Shift+S shortcut.

If you want to insert a hyperlink in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+K shortcut. And if you want to edit a hyperlink in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+E shortcut. To remove a hyperlink from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F9 shortcut. And to open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F10 shortcut.

If you want to insert a comment in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+A shortcut. And if you want to edit a comment in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To delete a comment from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert Comment dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F2 shortcut.

If you want to insert a picture in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+P shortcut. And if you want to edit a picture in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To remove a picture from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert Picture dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F3 shortcut.

If you want to insert a symbol in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+S shortcut. And if you want to edit a symbol in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To remove a symbol from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert Symbol dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F4 shortcut.

If you want to insert a chart in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+C shortcut. And if you want to edit a chart in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To remove a chart from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert Chart dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F11 shortcut.

If you want to insert a text box in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+T shortcut. And if you want to edit a text box in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To remove a text box from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert Text Box dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F5 shortcut.

If you want to insert an object in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+O shortcut. And if you want to edit an object in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To remove an object from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert Object dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F12 shortcut.

If you want to insert a file in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F shortcut. And if you want to edit a file in a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+E shortcut. To remove a file from a cell, you can select the cell and press the Ctrl+Shift+F8 shortcut. And to open the Insert File dialog box, you can press the Ctrl+Shift+F3 shortcut.
