Resizing a Text Box in a Macro in Excel

To resize a text box in a macro in Excel, first select the text box. Then, on the Format tab, in the Size group, click Height or Width. To resize the text box to fit the text that you typed or pasted, click AutoFit Text. To change the vertical alignment of the text within the text box, click Top, Middle, or Bottom. To change the horizontal alignment of the text within the text box, click Left, Center, or Right. You can also use the Size and Position window to resize and position a text box.


To resize and position a text box by using the Size and Position window:


  1. On the View tab, in the Show group, click Print Layout View.

  2. Click where you want to insert a text box.
