Filtering to a Date Range in the Past in Excel

Excel offers a few different ways to filter data to a date range in the past. The first way is to use the AutoFilter feature. To use AutoFilter, first make sure your data is in a table format. Then click the down arrow next to the column you want to filter. A drop-down menu will appear. In the drop-down menu, select "Date Filters" and then "Custom Filter". A Custom Filter dialog box will appear. In the first drop-down menu, select "Less than". In the second drop-down menu, select the date you want to filter to. Then click "OK". Your data will be filtered to only include dates less than the date you selected.

Another way to filter data to a date range in the past is to use the Filter feature. To use Filter, first make sure your data is in a table format. Then click the down arrow next to the column you want to filter. A drop-down menu will appear. In the drop-down menu, select "Filter". A Filter dialog box will appear. In the first drop-down menu, select "Less than". In the second drop-down menu, select the date you want to filter to. Then click "OK". Your data will be filtered to only include dates less than the date you selected.

You can also use conditional formatting to highlight cells that meet certain criteria. To do this, first select the cells you want to apply conditional formatting to. Then go to the Home tab and click "Conditional Formatting" in the Styles group. A drop-down menu will appear. Select "Highlight Cell Rules" and then "Less Than". A dialog box will appear. In the dialog box, enter the date you want to filter to in the first field and choose what color you want cells that meet the criterion to be highlighted in from the second drop-down menu. Then click "OK". All cells with a date less than the one you entered will be highlighted in the color you selected.
