Displaying Row and Column Labels in Excel

When working with large amounts of data in Microsoft Excel, you may find it helpful to display row and column labels on the screen. This can be done by using the "Freeze Panes" feature. To freeze panes, first select the cell where you want the split to appear. Then, click the "View" tab on the ribbon and click "Freeze Panes" in the "Window" group. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt+W+F. Row and column labels will then appear onscreen even when you scroll through your document.

If you want to freeze more than one row or column, or if you want to freeze both rows and columns at the same time, you can use the "Freeze Top Row" and "Freeze First Column" options. To do this, select the cell where you want the split to appear and then click the "View" tab on the ribbon. In the "Window" group, click "Freeze Panes" and then choose either "Freeze Top Row" or "Freeze First Column". You can also use the keyboard shortcuts Alt+W+FR and Alt+W+FC.

If you want to unfreeze panes, simply click the "View" tab on the ribbon and click "Unfreeze Panes" in the "Window" group. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt+W+U.
