Automatically Hiding the Personal Workbook in Excel

When you open Excel, the Personal Workbook is automatically loaded and displayed in the workbook area. If you don't want to see it every time you open Excel, you can hide it. Here's how:

  1. Click the File tab.
  2. Click Options.
  3. In the left pane, click Advanced.
  4. Under Display options for this workbook, clear the Show this workbook's window at startup check box.
  5. Click OK.

The next time you start Excel, the Personal Workbook will be hidden. If you want to see it again, just follow the steps above and select the Show this workbook's window at startup check box.
