15 Excel Shortcuts for Today's Date (or Any Date)

If you're like most people, you probably use Microsoft Excel on a daily basis. And if you're like most people, you probably wish there were more shortcuts to help you get your work done faster. Well, wish no more! Here are 15 shortcuts that will help you insert today's date into an Excel spreadsheet, or any other date for that matter.

1. To insert the current date in a cell, simply press Ctrl+;.

2. To insert the current time in a cell, press Ctrl+Shift+;.

3. To insert the current date and time in a cell, press Ctrl+; and then Ctrl+Shift+;.

4. To insert the day of the week, press Ctrl+Shift+1.

5. To insert the month, press Ctrl+Shift+2.

6. To insert the year, press Ctrl+Shift+3.

7. To insert the day of the month, press Ctrl+Shift+4.

8. To insert the week of the year, press Ctrl+Shift+5.

9. To insert the date in the format mm/dd/yyyy, press Ctrl+Shift+6.

10. To insert the date in the format dd/mm/yyyy, press Ctrl+Shift+7.

11. To insert the date in the format yyyy-mm-dd, press Ctrl+Shift+8.

12. To insert the date in the format mm/dd/yy, press Ctrl+Shift+9.

13. To insert the date in the format dd/mm/yy, press Ctrl+Shift+0.

14. To insert the date in the format yy-mm-dd, press Ctrl+Shift+-.

15. To insert the date in the format mm/dd, press Ctrl+Shift+=.
